VARTSIKHE HYDRO POWER PLANT (GEORGIA)

In December 2017, our company supplied and commissioned two systems SST-1000-220-2,5-UHL4 designed to replace the existing deteriorated excitation systems for hydro-generators No. 3 and No. 5, type SV 866 / 70-52-U4 for Vartsikhe Hydro Power Plant (Georgia).

Hydro-generators parameters:

  • generator rated full-power – 28.75 MVA;
  • generator rated voltage – 10.5 kV;
  • generator rated starter current – 1580 A;
  • rated excitation current – 940 A;
  • rated excitation voltage – 200 V.

Excitation system parameters:

  • Power converter parameters:
    – rated rectified current – 1050 A;
    – rated rectified voltage – 220 V;
  • Back-up: dual channel scheme “1+1”;
  • Rectification circuit scheme: 3-phase bridge diagram;
  • Cooling: natural air;
  • Regulator: automatic excitation control AVR-PSS;

Each excitation system consists of:

  • power rectifier transformer – 1 pc.;
  • thyristor converters and automatic excitation control channels №1 and №2 – Thyristor converter 1, Thyristor converter 2 – 2 pcs.;
  • cabinet with automatic field damper – AFD – 1 pc.
